| This oasis, reached by a precipitous dirt road from the heights of the Jibal Ahkdar, is fed by several al falajs, or irrigation channels. The relatively flat valley floor is divided into small fields with stone walls protecting the crops and date palm groves. The village clings to the slopes above and around the fields, shaded to some extent by the mountain ridge, looming some 6,000 feet above. | |||
