| The roof of this beautifully restored 17th Century fort affords a commanding view over the surrounding plain to the mountains of the Jibal Ahkdar range beyond. The fort was originally designed as a country house for Imam Bil’arub and then for a time became the Imam’s capital. An important school was founded here by the Imam, who was later buried in a tomb beneath the fort. | |||
